Love the dialogue on the handicapping threads.

My selections are sort of irrelevant. Getting a discussion going is what it is all about. We cannot get the banter at a racetrack near us anymore so this is the next best thing. Even if you want to tell me I suck. Just expect it right back at you!

I am on detox until ky derby. I mention that in most handicapping threads. These selections are for enjoyment only. NOT BETTING. If you bet them you are nuts

Don't usually watch and I WONT be betting them but am so intrigued with this Beckwith thing.
After last two days [ 3 wins on 15 favorites at Plainridge and M[1]] , those lofty expectations
are going to creep in. And yes tonight I suspect he won't get as many live drives with a good
portion of the Big Boys in play tonight. Gonna fit it in with Hoosier and a few Mohawks and
some NBA playoffs just to see it unfold.

  • Trigger: Very good analysis Calhoun, moreso from my perspective that Albin Jimenez was suspended and the #2 ride was really suspicious and overooked.  Is it possible that there is action equal to far greater outside mutual pools worldwide?

  • Calhoun: That tri pool was $4500. Net of takeout $3300.  Out of 60 possible outcomes, the result was  5th most likely out of 60 (using win odds to calc). Paid 14 to 1. Doesn't seem awful. It also would have been bet pretty good by the genpop. Maybe rigged for the 3 to win but the tri? I think not too likely.

  • Trigger: The race that everyone is talking about where Jimenez #1 stiffs his horse to finish behind the #3 his gf, but no one mentions the #2 (Lebron) and how he stiffed to be behind Jimenez.  To set up the 312 tri watch the stretch. [link]
