Terry was Kane County auditor for two terms and lost the last election. I think he still lives in Big Rock. He sold the farm to Joe Ludwig and he sold it to some Indian meat processors. Terry went broke investing in standardbreds, but he inherited his money, so he's right back where he started. His passion for horses was admirable, but he surrounded himself with some very questionable employees. He had a good run, but when the casinos were approved, it was lights out. Very sad.
If terry never met mark fransen he would of made millions in the business. Fransen ruined a lot royally bred babies. But terry being a nice guy just couldn’t get away from Fransen.

I think it was a matter of convenience for both. They lived within five minutes of each other, and they were "partners" in many horses. Mark wasn't a great trainer, but he certainly wasn't the worst.

Very true. Can you imagine if terry was with Tex moats or Farrington back then? He would of made millions.

Terry didn't spare an expense with those horses to the day they were sold at auction or the ones they kept  along with the mares. Always looking at their best didn't cut many corners. Ludwig bought a part of Cottonwood Farms which they used to stall horses for rent. Now that his younger other half left the stable someone mentioned he has sold off the property is correct. Like most things IL horse racing it's a distant memory now.
