The racing and that track is so awful why would anyone want to bet it. I've tried to watch big races there and even that's boring. But like you said for what they are running for and the money put into the pools it's embarrassing.

Couldnt agree more. Upstate ny sports media awash yesterday with report prepared for a  local county ida that claims impact of saratoga meet on capital district (albany, saratoga, schenectady and rensselaer counties)  is plus 360 m. Im usually highly skeptical of these but this one i give more credence than most. Area is a difft place in July and August. Zero question about this.

As a ny taxpayer though, i think the state is wasting huge $ on yonkers. Purses make no sense whatsoever;  actually so absurd not even
 laughable. Look at the barns benefitting. Many based in or originally from  out of state or canada; not nyers and unlike saratoga meet yonkers meet attendance is close to nonexistent. Casinos and state taxpayers dont benefit frim that places operation. I mean how much $ did ny state stuff into the pockets of the allard barn.  Hochul should be ashamed and held accountable by general public. Let faraldo spout whatever bs he wants. Fact is Yonkers is a taxpayer money pit.

consumers use oil products, consumers use drug products..... what part of harness racing welfare do consumers use. Cheaters have been taking free government handouts in harness for years with zero benefit to consumers. Should be racing for what they generate, and that is probably yes, 1500.00 per merry go round.

If you think Yonkers handle is bad what do you say about Buffalo, Vernon, Tioga, Plainridge, Bangor and Saratoga Harness. I have seen Superfecta pools of less than $500 at these tracks. And the live attendance is almost non-existent especially at Yonkers and Monticello. One reason may be people read the USTA website on Fridays and see how many trainers are caught every week for drugging their horses. If the trainers aren’t drugging they see how many drivers are illegally whipping and kicking their horses. The sport was once great fun. Now the public has gotten wise to how pathetic it has become.

Well yonkers has a huge slot casino and still handle blows. Nobody cares about the racing. Monticello has no slots there and does more dollars then junkers. Lord. I wouldn't expect Tioga etc to have any betting.  They will close as gural,has suggested.
