It was the correct call. The 3 came out and put his wheel under the 7. The 7 would have won.

I disagree, the 7 was bearing in during the stretch run and Gingras couldn't get him straightened and then ran up into the back of the 3, momentarily hooked wheels and threw the 7 offstride.  The 7 may have drifted a little but nothing more than any other horse does in the stretch.
