You’re Talking About Impeaching the Wrong Guy
First, the bad news. Barring some real evidence of something really bad like finding Trump is working for Putin (I think he is, but you need a “smoking gun”), Trump will not be impeached “NOW”. When Democrats take back the House in January, he could be impeached because you can impeach someone with a simple majority vote in the House. However, he will NEVER be convicted in the Senate.
You need 67 votes in the Senate to convict. Right now, Democrats have 47 votes. Even if Democrats win 5 seats in November and don’t lose any, we will have 52 seats. That means Democrats would need 15 Senate Republicans to vote to convict. That is not going to happen.
So, yelling about impeaching Trump is a waste of breath. At best, all you will do is embarrass him. A true waste of effort.
But there are other opportunities to take Trump down. If we impeach his lieutenants, we make it much more difficult for him to do things. I would start with Pete Hegseth. Hegseth is, shall we say, less than popular with congressional Republicans and the military officer corp. And there is evidence that Hegseth pushed for the attack on Iran in February. He has burned so many bridges in government and the military; we could get him convicted in the Senate. But if we wait until January and Democrats take back the Senate, we will also have some control over who would replace him.
Democrats could impeach Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Russell Vought, who was the driving force behind Project 2025, although it will be much more difficult to convict him, since he’s no where near as incompetent at his job as Hegseth.
Someone like Stephen Miller would be much more difficult. Miller’s role is as an advisor to Trump and, as such, did not require Senate confirmation. Plus, the Constitution says impeachment applies to the President, Vice President, and “all civil Officers of the United States.” An “advisor” is not considered a civil officer.
However, it is my belief that any Republican that works for the Trump regime didn’t get there without breaking a few laws. It’s time Democrats spend some money on a dedicated group of covert investigators to look into the lives of people like Miller. There is a decent chance they might find something damaging.
One of the directions any investigation should take is to look into the increases in wealth many of his cabinet has seen since Trump reentered the White House last year. During the period of January 2025-present, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick’s wealth has increased from $1.5 billion to $7.4 billion. Hegseth’s wealth has increased from $1 million to $4 million. Todd Blanche’s net worth has almost doubled.
In 1931, after 20 years of unsuccessfully attempting to put Al Capone in prison, what brought him down and put in prison was the boring charge of tax evasion. It may be boring, it may not be as satisfying as a conviction for corruption or war crimes, but it is much more doable.
From what I see, Donald Trump is untouchable until after he leaves office and Democrats take back the White House along with the DOJ. The way to hurt Trump is not to waste time on trying to impeach him. He can be hurt by finding ways to remove the people who are carrying out the policies; cut off the legs and you decapitate the head. I know there’s lots of anger at Trump, I feel it too. Let’s work to get something done that is realistic and can impact Trump’s agenda.

There are still 3 million Epstein files records that have not released and what has been released has been redacted to protect the guilty. And more BS excuses why they can’t release the remainder, cynically claiming they were protecting the victims.
