How does the "Mighty M" do it?
« on: June 17, 2026, 09:11:30 PM »
We go back to Monticello a few times a year. We stay at the Casino. Go to the track for daytime racing. If they had 50 people there, that's a big crowd. Yet today, the tracks handle was over $500,000 with an average of over $52,000 per race. I guess people love to bet the "Mighty M" from wherever they are.

I've been there a couple of times as an owner, and I didn't even bother going to the grandstand.  Not worth the trek!

Monticello seems to have a following during the day.  Don't forget they race Monday-Thursday with minimal A/B t-bred tracks to race against.

Look at the day racing harness tracks Plainridge (4pm) start, Saratoga harness, Pocono, the Meadows, and Oak Grove harness.  Probably better racing at Monti, compared to the tracks I listed!

Monti has always held its own as far as betting pools to bet into, compared to Yonkers.  What does this tell you?
