If you think that was bad check out race handles at Tioga, Vernon and Cumberland.  How about net Superfecta pools of less than $1,000?

But their purses are nowhere near Yonkers!  tmbz1

Pretty bad when the purse is higher than the race handle!

But keep that welfare coming in!

YR Saturday had the lowest handle I have ever seen there, beyond embarrassing. Those are Buffalo numbers.
Keep carding those 5 horse fields, however.

Yonkers should NOT race Saturdays as the Meadowlands slaughters its handle. Wednesday is Yonkers better night for racing.

They have switched Saturday and Wednesday in the summer months for a couple of years now. I assume they get a decent on-track crowd on Saturdays.

Wasn't that long ago that Saturday was the feature night of the week at YR...I still use the phrase "Saturday night horse" when referring to a good horse.
