Monticello r6, jim taggart #3
« on: December 28, 2023, 02:38:36 PM »
STRANGLEHOLD OF THE DAY AWARD.
just 3 ft from wire!!!!!!

WATCH REPLAY AND ASK.
(AND PERHAPS JUDGES SHOULD ASK AS WELL..(was that conduct just before wire 'unbecoming' and perhaps fine and suspendable, maybe even investigatory???)
How did his horse not go down at the wire, as Taggart Jrs #3 was surprised by catch driver moykens coming thru on inside with #1.....AND INDEED MOYKENS #1 PREVAILED.

JTJ 'most likely knowing' hes supposed to lose as per pre race directions, just about blew it, until he snapped out of his trance a couple feet from end lifting his steed's head in a very aggressive 'save the f'ing day' manner.

What a fool if you think he was stiffing the horse. You should be embarrassed

Mr or Mrs Missile

Youd be a fool to suggest otherwise.
Its part of the 'art' of the show.

Stiffing..getting hung..getting locked in..occasionally breaking a horse IS A PART of the show..for generations. Its an art and its damned tough to be good at it without explanation afterwards. We all know that

And im ok with it like most here. Its bred into us harness gamblers over the years. And im very aware of the in race dangers as well. A damned dangerous game this.

My complaint...JUST DONT MAKE IT SO DAMNED OBVIOUS LIKE the last two steps today.

Hooked wheels..doubtful.  'Saving a planned result' and almost screwing it up..sadly, more likely.

Bring on the head on shot..please....M onti judges would you pls send along...want to clear the air.

No offense from me JC for you questioning it.Dirty game. Just seems like he darted left after his head reared. Who's to say? Not the judges. I think he was beat without any aid anyhow.

If he wasn’t trying to win he would have never left. He wouldn’t be driving the horse one handed from the 3 quarter pole home . I understand you think he’s putting on a show. But you are incorrect

Jim Taggart would never intentionally lose a race. All of you should be ashamed for thinking that. ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3

I agree with Mike. I’ve watched and bet on JT for many years and have never seen him stiffing in my eyes. I also think it is shameful that a sore losing gambler puts something like this garbage out without knowing anything. Taggert has driven all of Gary Messenger’s horses for many years and I can’t count how many times JT winds up in the MR winners circle getting his usual kiss on the check compliments of Brenda Messenger.

Maybe you are correct BT but I guess I am trying to take the high road here. It doesn’t change my opinion. I have seen my share of stiff jobs in my life especially on half mile tracks where it’s pretty easy. I just don’t recall JT being one of them.

Another example of a good T-bred track over a harness track. They routinely show an additional replay [the headon] after each race, inquiry or not. The only way you ever see the head-on is for an inquiry/ objection claim at a common harness track.

My first reaction and still my opinion was Taggert knew they were going to be at the line together but his horse was losing steam and he tried to yank the horses head up right at the wire to get the nose victory.

Race wasn't fixed, 1 3 4 5 was a blanket finish with all trying to win.
