Mohawk Thursday
« on: December 28, 2023, 06:25:35 PM »
Race#2-#7 GOLDIES ROCKIN 3-1 Ten hole got the best of her last week, left, got a hole then grounded first over. Much easier trip tonight, should be leaving as soon as they open the wings.

Race#3-#7 NORTHERN SPY 9-2 ML Debuts for Lester off the claim, drops him in price marginally, gets Borth back who’s familiar with him. Can race different styles, expecting barn change to improve him tonight.

Race#8-#4 GOING YARD 6-1 ML Definitely the most consistent performer in this conditioned claimer. Hit the board every start & never bet heavy at Mohawk, like her in here for the upset tonight.

Race#9-#5 RJS SUPERFREAK 7-2 ML Just went for a stroll first start in from Hoosier last week, after missing almost 5 weeks. Expect a better effort tonight, drops from NW2 to a conditioned claimer.

Best of luck!  tmbz1

Goldies Rockin needs more encouragement to keep his head straight (could not tell if he was wearing a head pole with the fog and bad camera work).. but a L/S pole, starting loose (and then tightening if necessary) seems to be something the trainer should try.  If he has a L/S on already, then he should add a R/S.

Northern Spy was the kind of horse you love to bet, just revved it up mid-lane and stomped on them.

Drive on Going Yard was hesitant, as he drifted wide coming out of the first turn and then had to shoehorn his way into the hole... then almost immediately pulled him (my hunch is, before he really wanted to.)

RJS Superfreak-Can see why they gave him a trip around the track.. but didn't learn much.
