It was the cheapest structure ever built pure garbage the paddock used the cheapest lumber and I hooks money could buy.

The lock on the piss catchers office door could be Jimmy with a screwdriver, giving access to the blood gas machine need I say more!

The offices were heated in the winter, making it a good place on dark day to take a barn slut.  Plenty of good blow jobs were given in the paddock judges chair, we also use the desk to fuck on leaving a nice mess.. A good time was had by all.

I'd rather know who you were fucking?

He was. Joe had a good heart and always meant well. I can tell you a funny anecdote about Joe and me and as i look back, I almost find it hard to believe myself and I lived it.  LOL..   Pretty sure as he started out transitioning from the carting business, he had a friend named Wally Partridge, right. The guy worked for him with the horses. I am going bck to 1983. Can you confirm my memory....

Joe started by training and driving his own horses. He started making $$$ when he took on other owners and left the driving to others. Initially John DeSimone and Sep. He finally settled on SEP for reasons I wont get into but you may know. Though I have been going to Monti since the early seventies, I was a regular starting in the very late 80,s to the late 90's when I warned Sully I was done if he didn't clean up the Bullshit.  He didn't and I was done until about a year ago when I printed a program ans actually started winning.

Vinny was a good guy. I’m talking about the paddock office, where they used to call the races out from. Rocky’s desk.  ngc3

There were a couple. One worked for DeSantis, one rainy day she said oh no, I can’t. I have my period. I said even better we put a towel over the desk and left it there. What a fucking mess. 😳😂

They finally caught wise the dumb bastards and put new locks on the doors.

Didn't you ever hear of wet wipes?  Maybe they weren't invented yet.

I liked this conversation a lot better before it deteriorated to titties, pussies and body fluids.

ok, well what i was getting at was this....I'll try to be brief.  Fall, 1983, Pocono. I am grooming for Arnold teat and we are qualifying an old Buddy Gilmour castoff named, Oswald.  A tall, gruff, dark haired guy and his asst. a little guy walk over to me and introduce themselves as Joe Minieri and Wally Partridge. they are carrying equipment. Joe says, " hey, ya know what this is? " I'm like, "It's a harness" He says, "Yeah, but what kind" It was a modified harness with a gum rubber girth.   he asks if I could show him how to put it on his horse and attach the cart. I said sure.

Flash forward a few years...I am starting out on my own having spent 84 and 85 at the Big M. Monti existed of course but I really wasn't paying attention. So now it's like 87 and I have a couple that wont do at YR, naturally take them to Monti. I get there and lo and behold JOE MINIERL, the ex garbage man, has a barn full and is leading trainer. I was like, HOLY SHIT, Just a few years ago he asked ME, a nobody groom, how to put on the newfangled harnesses of the day. Might sound silly now, but it made an impression on me.

Joe had a good heart. I heard he would 4H kids cometo the barn and jog and fool with the horses. That sorta thing.

Funny you say that. I used to bring my own kids to his barn. What a treat for them and Joe.

Nice story

That was Joe 73cv.2

I used to laugh going by his barn and looking in on a Sunday morning as he was running around, barking orders and trying to organize 9 horses going to the paddock, trying not forget something or other. Then the parade of horses, carts, bikes and grooms down the hill would begin. I miss those days so bad, it hurts.

Joe was a great guy and a real character I always liked him. He always walked to the winners circle when his horse would win.

If I caught him right, warming up a horse as he was walking back to the paddock I used to yell at him to fuck off he was turning around and laugh.

That was Joe. Dark slacks or jeans, heavy black mud boots and a buttoned shirt - half opened, never tucked in. Always seemed like he didnt walk, he trudged. Gone from us too soon. God rest his soul.
