Monticello Raceway on a roll today

I do not recall MR having so many trainers, and one groom, suspended in one week. Even MR HOF driver/trainer William Parker Jr was caught not playing by the rules. Did someone suddenly wake up the testing guy? Incredibly there were more licensees fined than fans that showed up to watch them race this week. After these licensees pay their fines hopefully they have enough money left over for a good meal at Tilly’s Diner.

Amazing how this cesspool generates handle. Still, I've always loved racing and betting there.

Probably because you have great memories of MR when it was great night to spend with friends. Kind of an old lover where you had a bad breakup. As the years pass the anger subsides and you remember the good times. MR was that good in the 60s and 70s. Now it’s not even a shell of its old self. But hopefully your old lover is available  :P

I'm pretty sure that I paid for that infield fountain over the years.
For those of you who remember the Golden Years of the Mighty M,  try the FB group dedicated to those years at Monti.

I've looked at it. Remember that big main entrance with that big counter that had programs, pencils, tip sheets, and souvenirs? Remember the row of high seats on pillars that were shoe shine stands on the back wall opposite the cashier windows? What about that big circular deli/cafeteria. Very good corned beef, pastrami, roast beef, etc. What marvelous days.....and nights!
