Billy and Peter Haughton

Peter had so much talent and ability and was just a great kid. Had he not been killed so tragically young, the Haughton name would have continued to flourish, even after Billy was killed. Owners fled when there wasnt a "reliable" Haughton to go to the sales with.

Tommy was a nice guy but couldnt really cut it and Cammy became a judge

Ya Money comes and goes.
What father son combo each won the national dash winning championship?
Hint
They were each born in that hot bed of racing.
Wisconsin
Yes Don and Daryl Busse are the only father son compo to each win a National Dash Championship.
Don in 1963
Daryl in 1975
Between 1961 and 1967 the dash winning champion was either Bob Farrington or Don Busse.
Unlike today's dash champions Farrington and Busse won by mainly driving horse they trained and often times owned.
I am just an old horse trainer still going around in circles. Sometimes Fast. Sometimes Half-Fast.

  • Calhoun: Thx I'm leaning to the 5 there.  Those CD/GP full field races look the best on the page. 1/2 length from being a G3 winner.
