There's cheating in everything, that's human nature.  Harness racing is no different.  I'm not sure about the old folks comment, seems to be an abundance of good young drivers coming up every year in the sport lately and i've seen plenty of young people betting on the horses.

frank you are right about flam and georgian and many others on both sides of the border
but the industry needs places to race young horses and b class horses
as for the casinos... i say fuck em, they were all to happy to get in bed with harness racing when it allowed them to open casinos so live with it, that was their cost of entry
