good handle 23000 on last race. on last race did anyone see the 4 at 1-5 and in last minute before the race went off all the money came out and went to the 6 who jogged. 4 went off 16-1 and broke.   was not quite torture but being in the paddock from noon till 7 must have been tough.  signal was ok, looked like a new camera crew. part time job in maine so i guess thats to be expected. judges called the first dead heat at cumby in many many moons.did the track or boat show get more attendence?  announcer makes roger look better than i could ever credit him for.

There are a lot of complaints with Cumberland, but seriously, where would be without them. For the horses we race, the purses are not bad at all. And almost everyone gets money with the small fields. Without Cumberland, most of the guys would rely on Bangor and the fairs.  Then what. I'm sure some of the better horses and some of the younger NW horses will try the Ridge.  Saw that their purses went up even more than last year and even have cheaper TM races for great money. Small fields too. It's worth a shot even with the price of gas.

We can all bitch and complain, isn't that what most do, but without Cumberland, we would be in real trouble.

on a side note is saw that First Tracks is looking to start up harness racing in Arizona. That could be interesting. GREAT year round weather.

agree and dis agree.  cumby is a place to race, purses not bad especially for the lower class with not many other places to race. supposed to be a place holder till a new track is built. my only knock is the management company is only in it for their fees, got signal out there but has made no effort to keep or attract any fans. i get most tracks are pretty empty but last time i went there were less than 20 cars and maybe 15 people on the apron. why bother building a new track and how much longer till the casinos point out no one cares and they get away with decoupling. that 100k off track equals 3000 in revenue. that wont cut it.

Is Ron Cushing staying here at Cumberland? Looks like he doesn't have new imports this year as in years past.
