In this years edition of who got caught cheating in the Jug barn we have none other than Dr. Ian Moore. Good ol doc decided to take the ol feed bucket out of the jug barn sprinkle some magic dust on it and bring it back in. Apparently Andrew "Mouth of the South" Harris reported it to the commission and they investigated it and he was scratched by the judges. Thanks for playing can or can we not get caught cheating in the the jug barn.

Cut the purse $50,000 and put a guard on every horse for at least 24 hrs. Reflections on the yogurt fiasco..
-
Should be suspended and not allowed to transfer a horse to another name. Maybe then that'll be a wake-up call

Very disappointed in Dr Moore He does deserve a still penalty for trying to make a mockery of the whole process of trying to instill integrity.

stiff not still tmbz1

Be interesting to see how he two yr old races Saturday night at Mohawk in the Metro.
-
well in this case the vet cant be blamed, he is both trainer and vet, oopss!!

Their already in a 72 hr d barn

The same guy with the WNY connection

Its a 48 hour detention and its the biggest joke you ever seen. Tons of vets in there working on the horses. I raced in the juggette why even bother. A vet should only be allowed in within 48 hours if it was an emergency and then the horse would be scratched. I agree with a guard at every horse and a camera in case the guard was somehow compromised.
-
If this is true than now it makes more sense how his 24k Ohio yearling as a 2yr. old has made over $300k and is #1 in Ohio this year. You got to watch out for those trainer/ vets. I've seen this picture before.

Has Canada made a statement or even announced what they are doing to him? Has any major paper reported this?

Do Pena's old GF and Dr. Kokinos still race horses? I've lost touch

Jennifer Lappe? Haven’t seen her name as a trainer in over a year.

Not sure about her being Lou’s GF. She left her husband in Illinois to go play with Dr Boy Genius

I thought she had been involved with Pena many years ago, Maybe I am thinking of Jennifer Sabot.

Sabot came from CA with him. Lappe been with Kookinos for 20 years. We always laughed at Hawthorne when they called over backstretch speaker for him. Always sounded like they said Boy Genius. And he thought he was

Why would "Canada" make a statement lmao.
Pretty sure The Jug still takes place in Ohio.
Was he suspended in Ohio?
-
Realistically it was probably vitamins or electrolytes. He got scratched will get a small fine and it will be over with
-
Depends,
If the commission got the powder then it will get tested. We sure it wasn’t powdered yogurt! Heard he has a bad stomach
-
Jennifer Lappe? Haven’t seen her name as a trainer in over a year.
last news i heard about jennifer lappe is when she got arrested in upstate new york for petty theft,,,she stole a tip jar in a restaurant...tell s you everything you need to know about her character lol
-
She had (has) serious health issues resulting in doing irrational things.

I'm telling you guys that he is a USTA golden guy! Here's my prediction for the results of this incident provided the details on the incident were accurate. NO foreign substance was discovered however Due to a violation of detention protocol, Dr.Ian Moore will be assessed a $200 fine. ($100 if he does not appeal the ruling )
-
If he did something wrong then he deserves a penalty.
I find it hard to believe he would administer something illegal in from of others. There are stupid people out there but I don't think he is one of them.

. Why take a feed bucket of the detention to your trailer and sprinkle some white powder on it and bring it back in and feed it? Even if it was nothing at all he knows the rules. Why risk it for vitamins or supplements? What ever it was it was extremely important for that horse to get it that's for sure. Like you said, he's no idiot so he knew exactly what he was doing and he was bold enough to take the risk.

lappe has horses racing at Vernon.

Agreed. We don't know how much of this story is true and if it happened we don't know what was added.

Well something happened. The horse was indeed scratched an hour before his race

I don’t know how that’s possible. She has no address listed in the USTA Pathway, her membership expired 6/23, and she hasn’t started a horse as a trainer since 6/25/22.

Couldn't stand her or Kokinos. Don't know where he got a Vet's license. Had a trotting mare I owned but didn't train. Hard trying mare worth around 10k. monticello. Anyway, trainer decided he wanted to do some work on her hind ankles. He was the trainer at this point, not me. I had no objections and didn't want to interfere. Dr. Saxe wasn't available that day so we went with Kokinos. I stood there gritting my teeth watching him work. I swear he couldn't even scrub her down with betadine the right way. The worst.

The horse was scratched TRV, Trainers Responsibility Violation. He has to be assessed a penalty for necessitating a scratch imo. It also wouldn't surprise me if this turned into one of those "Hey,what ever came of that ??????" cases like they sometimes do.

Yep just like the yogurt situation

The Jug I think is treated just like an other county fair race in Ohio except for the retention area. Having been on the Ohio county fair circuits many times I know a lot of drugging goes on. I have been under the impression they don't test the winners after the race like they do at the parimutuel tracks.

I have seen here listed as owner about 2 weeks ago, at VD.

Thanks for the info. I guess there’s a reason she’s not training anymore or has a USTA license.

“It is our understanding that the rules and regulations were violated according to the Judges.” Dragone said. “Yes, Dr. Ian Moore was the trainer of record for Stockade Seelster. I can also tell you that despite the rumors, no contraband was found.”
He's not that stupid to administer something in that setting. No one with a brain would be

As I said before it was probably electrolytes. With the 72 hour detention the horse probably wasn’t drinking that well. With 2 heats starting out a little dehydrated is not going to go well

Do you work in politics? You obviously don't know shit about horses and dehydration. Feeding some electrolytes that close to a race wouldn't do squat. If it were that bad you scratch. A Dr. would have jugged him up day before making sure he was adequately hydrated. Horses don't get dehydrated that fast especially when they are not on lasix! He was obviously giving him something to affect his performance plain and simple. He needs to get a min of 1 yr. suspension and they need to lock the horses up and now allow transfers unless approved!
-
Does Canada post all-time infractions like the USTA does? I looked him up on USTA and the record is squeaky clean. Just curious where all the cheating insinuations are coming from.
You would have to be a mouth-breathing moron to blatantly bring something into the detention barn.

Or have balls as big as a elephant..

He may have just said " He is getting sick and I didn't see anyone around to scratch him!" I figured it was best to start treating him before it got worse " When asked for the scratch slip he may have replied "Gimme a second and I'll fill one out for you!" That's how I would have handled it! ngc3 ngc31

Go to any tack shop and buy a bucket of electrolytes. Eat a teaspoon. Let me know how much water you drink over the next hour.

Will the good Dr. have Tattoo Artist's 'hydration' right tonight at Dayton? He's been brilliant lately but 3 big boys[ Charlie, Allywag, Missile] ready to end his streak. Will they break 1:49? I say no..After being at Dayton for OSS last year, I don't think that track is fast enough for it, although it's a pretty warm day here in Buckeye Country.
