11 tracks tonight...none this afternoon
« on: May 25, 2019, 06:53:16 AM »
You would think just one track would change their post time Decatur to Gamblers firing millions and millions on thoroughbreds that might just want to take a shot on harness rather than split the dollar 11 ways on a Saturday night

I disagree. Daytime cards (harness) is no good. Hardly any handle and its just another way the racinos deal with the racing. They could careless if there is 5 people in the stands and $1000 bet on card. 95% of tbred bettors would not bet a buggy race if there life depended on it. Derby day ok i agree run a live card during the day i mean hell the stands are packed.

big crowd at the meadows

There was a big crowd at the meadows for the food truck festival, weiner dog races. Shame you couldn't see the track from the apron. No one betting!!!! Just there for the food. Does anyone know what the handle was? We don't need family fun nights! We need bettors!!! People eating food truck food won't help keep us in business. They were more interested in the weiner dogs than the horses. My wife said the outriders horse looked sad, I would too having to carry 400lbs.

I have an answer to this problem.
replace the starting gate car with a food truck.
the people will be more interested in racing if they have to run alongside the starting gate to get their wieners.

The Meadows did $44.000 on track.  That is not bad for the Meadows.  Some terrific payouts and great racing program.

I'm not saying to go half and half but at least have one or two of the 11 race in the afternoon and leave the other nine or 10 to the night

Why don't you go find some more beard owners........... ............handl e is in............... .....on track 1,351 patrons.......... ....total handle........... .$345,292 for the food festival......... .......your beard owners got out.............. ...scared of Loewe............ .........
Just love doing the broadcast. Shuley, Chumlee, Paddock have gotten used to the holier than thou attitude. We only work on the show, because we get paid. Dealing with Ringo is a different story.

I think a few of the B/C tracks should go on Saturday Afternoon. Say Pocono/Saratoga/Buffalo/Hawthorne.
