Dexter Dunn may be contacted by PETA after 10th at The Red Mile
« on: September 30, 2023, 04:50:48 PM »

Took Ants Marching to a 27 second q

     All  Good....

When he hit the 1/2...it read 53:2

The announcer stated whatever onlooker thought...

     "If that's right (53:2)......that's WRONG!"

but said the hell with horse...kept going   1:20  Flat

Then dropped dead in the lane Finished 5th

Dex,   Have you been puffing the wacky Weed??

Guess he thought he had  SBSW ?

       or Bret Hanover?

Nice to drive.....and not give a damn about your mount.

Just wonder if the owner came over and slapped him in

the head with a BBQ Sandwich  Extra Sauce

My opinion of Dexter has dropped..

I am hoping the teletimer was wrong.

       An insult to Harness Racing..

PS   No I didnt bet $2  ...dont even bet.

I'm thinkin it was , one of those, where they just say "We're going down the road."...Hopin to bottom 'em out. Like Tom Cruise said in Risky business.."Sometimes, you just gotta say'What the fuck'"

Horse is impossible to hold and Dexter is the weakest of any driver besides maybe David Miller.  He isn't going to fight one or even try to wrangle one back.  Trainers know this so they should understand what was going to happen.  Anyone in the know knew this was coming anyway.....

I'm getting the sense that some members of this forum do not like the choice of topics by this "new" member "Winky".   I wonder why that is?  Something about absurdity of choice of topics perhaps, and a bit of overdoing his nonsensical points while trying to make jokes. Who might do such a thing?

I thought that Dunn made a mistake. He took back to fifth with Jiggy Jog. A longshot carried her up, three wide on the turn, & she won easily.
Dunn had amazing horses last year. Bulldog retired, maybe others too, & another one left the country.

Pretty rare for a track announcer to call out a driver.

Listen to the call...10th race RED MILE

and check back...

Dex top driver...this drive was a spicy meatball.

Ayer’s would use that call probably once a week when some idiot rolled one at NFLD.

I really dont get the whole Dexter Dunn fascination. Now let me clarify one thing. I was away mentally and physically from the sport during the whole Covid fucking disaster, so i must admit, other than watching Bulldog replays, this is the first full year, i have seen DD drive consistently ( maybe not a fair sampling. I know he made a big splash upon arrival, after some dubious circumstances at home). From what i have seen and I do respect his earnings, he sits a bike well, has "speed" in his hands but i am not seeing anything special or extraordinary. maybe it's me. He has, this year anyway, won very few significant races, has made many mistakes in significant races, is really nor very good on a small track, mistimed his move with Seven Colors in the Jug and has had some dreadful days on important days. He and Yannick are the worst 2 "overdrivers" among the top 10, IMHO. And as you know, I often defend Yannick, mostly because he is a supreme earner. As a trainer who relied on catch drivers, I assess with complete objectivity Dexter is a solid driver who can earn with a top horse, but as a horseman, I personally would not let him near a top colt of mine. The big upside driver i see next 5 years is Todd McCarthy.
