WILL THIS 'C' TRACK BE SMARTER NEXT WEEK AND BAR SHOW WAGERING ON 5 HORSE FIELD WITH BIG RAIL FAVE???
..YOU'D THINK.

Today, opening day (13 sundays meet) Canada's southernmost harness track, Leamington Raceway...a 'C' size operation about 40 mi southeast of Detroit/old Windsor Raceway

this aft 2nd race,,$8,500 Prospect Series 2 yr old colt division
5 horse field..with prohibitive rail horse driven by Mario Baillargeon. He won.

hpibet
9339 show pool
9165 on #1
pd. the usual 2.10
..Well we know $450 went to one or a couple of 9000 dollar bettors

*do tracks come with 'pool insurance? for just this thing.
*does a track need permission from state or province to bar show wagering from an event? is it race secratary's job to contact jurisdiction authorities after HANDING rail guaranteed board hit to Baillargeon's horse here?

just asking....im sure track's profit margin is MINISCULE.
****
and still to come,

3 more Prospect Series$ $8,500 races to come there today
6th colts, 7th fillies, 9th filies
and Baillargeon involved in all four.

and potential value out there for you all this aft...
That 6th race might once more have big show drop, though not nearly as obvious as race 2,,,keep eye out if potential profit is out there to take bridge jump beating shot. In that race, he has a THESTABLE JAYPORTBEACHBOY Guelph, Ont. colt.  AND in the 7th, another 2 yr old, filly this time, from outside 6 post, at 2-1, with another of the hundreds of everybody's friends THESTABLE..this time THESTABLE McPAISLEY GROUP, Guelph. Potential bridge jump alert there too,,,though, again, not a lock.

1....the track that takes the bet is responsible not the host track. 2...you can bar any type of wager you want but has to be before program  comes out..

I believe if there is a scratch in a race the track can also eliminate certain wagers

yes,,a scratch can change profile too.

to all, if you can play leamington this aft,,,race 6 and 7 might, might,,,,have another jumper, this time to 'play against'. In neither case is baillargeon a lock to win,,,not that he cant, just not a lock. Unlike race 2, when baillargeon wired from rail at 1-5

After 7 update...Leamingt on opening day.
Baillargeon has 4 wins first 7 races, all as faves
Incl 3 Prospects we spoke of....with three races to go.
yaaaawn.

fyi
New test barn stall(s) built for this season. Hopefully theyre manned today, . (last season trainer D. Basilone's last Ontario appearance was at Leamington when she 'forgot' to bring the featured trot runner-up by for a little sample..shes long gone back to nystate)

Meadowlands with its big pools will bar prohibitive favorites from show wagering. Jeff doesn't like losing money

I believe in Canada the no show wagering call is done by the CPMA.
