Geocentric (2 yo filly) 149:4 at Red Mile
« on: August 02, 2023, 04:35:14 AM »
Geocentric (Sweet Lou-Geometry) threw down a :26.3 final panel en route to a 1:49.4 mile, the fastest clocking for any 2-year-old pacer this year, in her $80,000 first-round division of the Kentucky Sire Stakes on Tuesday (Aug. 1) at the Red Mile. The program also featured an $80,000 Sire Stakes split for 3-year-old trotting fillies, as well as three $30,000 Kentucky Commonwealth Series splits and four $15,000 Kentucky Goldenrod Series divisions, likewise featuring 2-year-old pacing fillies and 3-year-old trotting fillies.
Geocentric immediately went to the lead from post position one in line to driver Tim Tetrick and clicked off fractions of :28.1, :56 and 1:23.1. The Brian Brown trainee was never seriously challenged and hit the line a full second in front of Gifted One (Captaintreacherou s-Creative Power, Todd McCarthy). Reachingforthemoo n (Captaintreacherou s-Flyme To The Moon, Andrew McCarthy) was third.

Geocentric became the fastest 2-year-old pacer in the U.S. this year with a 1:49.4 victory in an $80,000 first round leg of the Kentucky Sire Stakes. Amanda Stephens photo.
Geocentric, a $55,000 purchase at the 2022 Standardbred Horse Sale, was bred by Diamond Creek Farm and is owned by Milton Leeman, Alan Keith, James Stambaugh and Joe Sbrocco. This was her second victory in as many starts. She paid $2.10 to win.

FYI another Sweet Lou holds the all-time record set almost 5 years ago for a 2 year-old filly, Warrawee Ubeaut in 148:3

She will be torched after KYSS.  Brown's 2yo's never last.  Reminds me of Roger Hammer.  Roger used to win every Grand Circuit race early then by year end they were cooked. Some came back at three but weren't the same horse as they were at two.  Now all of you are gonna say Downbytheseaside and Fear the Dragon.  Brown has had 100 babies for the last seven to eight years so that's 2 out of 700+ I could make a long spreadsheet of his two yr olds and you would see a very distinct pattern of good early then no good late.  They don't have any base in them and there all speed.  They find there speed then cook themselves.  Once a baby feels that pain the first time they either go on or they crumble.  The more miles and base you have in one delays that burn and they are used to it.
