Those rankings are just for those eligible.  Confederate, or any other non-eligible can supplement any time before September 16 (5 days before the race!!)

I am certainly not! Hope he is there!  My gut is Brett wants to be if it were solely up to him. The best 3 year old should be in the most important race at least by traditions standards before racing biggest crowd!

Bowdens are funny people they wont pay supplemental money or spend in certain areas they should and waste money in areas they shouldn't.

If I had a monster horse he wouldn't go anyway near the Little Brown Jug. It's a bullring where a great horse can get beat up by a nobody.
Don't get me wrong. It's an iconic event that's tops for spectators. Less ideal for horses.

So nobody's are showing up in 7 figure races now? Look at the purse my man.  That statement is a little off base.

as i said there are a million reasons to show up
quite frankly if you think your horse has a shot giddyup
even if it starches him and he is not great for the balance of the year
for example for those eligible the kss final goes for $400k and the breeders crown for $600 k so if you can win both you get same as winning the jug
and maybe just maybe the horse is ok and can with stand the 2 heats as hundreds of others have done in the past and do well after it

I want to see Pelling at The Jug.
Maybe get a good quote.
Remember when his driver took off a Pelling colt in the final.
When asked about catch drivers Pelling said
"We just bring them to the dance we don't have to dance with them".
I can't remember the year or the driver that took off.
