Lasix overages are a bit of an anomaly. You get a bad state vet that gets a little out of the vein you get a positive through no fault of your own. Don’t get me wrong I know a few that would give a couple extra CC before they went to track

To my knowledge Lasix overages have taken place at Mohawk a number of times. The only 3 possible causes are:
1. Horse doesnt metabolize lasix normally.
2. Track Vet error
3. Trainer cheating with lasix. This seems less plausible since they know the horse is getting lasix, and will surely be tested if finishing first or second.

Lasix is just like any other drug used on a regular basis. The body builds a tolerance. When Dr. added Lasix to my list of meds, I would piss every 15 minutes for an hour or so. After 2yrs on it, I piss 3x in 2 hours! I know of a trainer that would give Lasix on his own to all his Lasix horses. With the post time dragging, I think that it probably helps.
