Harness returns to Arizona after 56 year absence!
« on: April 09, 2022, 11:11:31 AM »
Watch & Wager the owners of the meet here at Cal Expo just signed a deal to lease Prescott Downs (old Yavapai). Just needs regulatory approval. Nice new options out west for when the state fair is here. Lots of horsemen growing unhappy with Running Aces in Minnesota. No summer Chicago harness either. Look for 7:30 start which fits late night simulcast schedule

First off the purses for thoroughbred racing out here is pathetic. The way they sell the simulcast signal also pathetic where you can't wager off track on the major thoroughbred tracks. That is an purse account buster. Can't imagine the purses will be much to attack anyone other than those horseman going back and forth to MN. Also the meet for now will not be long enough to pay for those shipping cost from the midwest. As far as a Pompano comparison we will just start with the weather it is a 180. Prescott in the winter at its higher elevation has seasons. Meaning winter. Cold and snow. I guess see how a short met the first year and see how it plays out.
