Ron B BC night
« on: October 26, 2025, 07:50:36 AM »
Couple observations from being trackside last night at Mohawk  1st Mohawk and the crew put on a  great production. 2 nd I listen John Rallis interviewing Ron early in the night and he asked about Louprint Ronnie cam right out , I don’t know what you guys saw last week in the PP but he was super raced super and you don’t know what your talking about. 3rd Post parade analysis during the 3 CP Randy ‘ hey am not saying the horse looks lame or off he just doesn’t look like he did Cup night , he had no swagger.
4th from being around Ron B at Meadow most of his career he never miss
is chance for a post race win interview when he’s track side. I was there on the apron for Searock and unless my 78 yr old eyes just instantly went bad no RB in the circle. Perhaps he was picking Randy Waples brain seeing if he had insight on Louprint 2 off performances. Randy did point it out both weeks.

I saw the Burke interview. He did not look happy. It was if he knew it wouldn't be a dominant Burke night.

I also thought he looked like he got up on the wrong side of the bed.

I have noticed many times Burke shows zero emotion and almost like interviews in nuisance to him and then he just going through the motions

I'm also sure he's tired of being asked the same questions all the time. When Brian Sears was still driving, he seemed annoyed when he had to do interviews.

so the sports biggest star Louprint who 2 weeks ago touted as perhaps one of the greatest of all time pulls a no show with another questionable drive and Burke doesnt show up to talk up Searoc, a horse with alot of talent and wins but one who has basically avoided the grand circuit for cleaning up on the sire stakes circuit.

absolutely no one even wondering what the fuck is wrong with Louprint. I thought he threw in some steps around that first turn

Two things:
1 - I also found it crazy not a Burke to be seen in the WC for Searoc - they were both warming horses up during the celebration but I also suspect he would have been there if Louprint won.
2 - Everyone seems to want to give Randy a hard time on this board but you're kidding yourselves if you don't think he brings a useful perspective to the equation. You don't sit behind that many horses and not have a good eye for some of the intangibles a program reader doesn't necessarily have.

Very much like Karl went from a potential value of $25-$40mm to a minor fraction of that since he did not carry his "King of the Hill" all the way through to the end, Louprint just went from a potential value perhaps even greater than that (if he had continued) to, again, much less and this would have been across the board for the Burke Brigade.  Sippinonsearoc was the fastest 2yo every last year and now has won the Breeders' Crown, but is by Downbytheseaside and Princess Anne M, so while he could be considered for a top regional sire, certainly not like Louprint (for whom they own a good chunk of the Sire, the dam and for whom they were the breeders).  They gave 77,000 for Sippinonasearoc at the Lexington Select.  Also, looking at the ownership group for Sippin, it would appear that unlike Louprint, who is owned by the Burke Brigade (Burke, Weaver Bruscemi, Collura) + Larry Kerr, Sippin's ownership may be a bit more "diluted" for the Burke Brigade, as it has Burke, Weaver Bruscemi, PA&rR A S racing LLc, Powell, OH and Knox Services, Mt. Vernon, OH.

I think the loss of a potential $25mm asset could account for some of the angry look that Burke had immediately following the race.

Ronnie was probably pissed because he knew he fucked up. The drive on Louprint was totally his fault. No horse could of done what he told Wrenn to
do. They were eight across leaving and he told Wrenn to go down the road and take no prisoners. It was an impossible task. If he would have let Wrenn drive his own race maybe he could have worked out a trip and got the job done.

A trainer can tell you anything he wants but it's still up to the driver once the race starts. If he told him to go down the road and take no prisoners, Wrenn did a poor job of leaving the gate. His race was basically over in the 1st turn.

Everyone just assumed Louprint would win even with that post. My response was Wrenn needed to take Louprint to the pylons then make his move after the first turn. The first turn at Mohawk is a killer. It is still a 5/8 track turn.

Here they come

I’ve been at track for most of races by louprint. He did not warm up like he usually does. On the flip side, Sippin on seroc warmed up tremendous. I’m sure there will be a good reason why Louprint not himself on saturday nite. Like another poster said, He did get a lil steppy going into first turn. Hopefully it’s nothing serious and we’ll see the real Louprint before the year is over.
