Mohawk Tuesday
« on: August 26, 2025, 11:48:02 AM »
Race#3-#3 WENDELL BLUE CHIP 6-1 ML Hannah’s the harness in Baillargeon barn for tonight’s event. Benoit has long had success with trotters coming over to his barn. I’ll expect some improvements tonight & hopefully some value.

Race#6-#6 PICK A GENRE 5-1 ML Raced good the last two starts, $8000 claimers generally aren’t consistent, expect Henry to activate him off the wings.

Best of luck!  tmbz1

Wendell Blue Chip was bumpy as shit, can’t believe stayed trotting, looked like he wanted to jump about 10x.

Pick A Genre , lol blasted down to 2-5 at the gate, disgusting!

I downloaded the program the night before and scoped out a couple of plays..Pick a Genre was one of them...as they circled around the car he was 2/1 as they approached the start he was 9/5 ..im on HPI Bet ready to bet figuring ..ok the horse will probably go to 8/5...decent price..i placed my bet..only to discover that he was bet down to 2/5...this is why i quit spending serious coin at Mohawk...only the occasional small wager.....after a lifetime of banging out the bucks at Greenwood, Garden City and Mohawk.....things wont change....im a dyed in the wool Win bettor....its now becoming a clown show there

[/quote  I also did the same thing. I keyed in a good sized win bet at what I thought was 9/5. As they leave the gate and Henry is obviously on a down the road mission at the 1/4 pole 2/5. I wanted to cancel my win bet.

Please do not bring up the truth it bothers people,   Lets pretend that the horses having an EDGE start are not dropping huge in odds

I read a plopster say months ago that all the big players are still playing and that was the most retarded post i have ever seen as every single person i know does not play and will never play again,      It shows you how many gamblers are left when no one talks about this issue as it is the biggest issue in the history of harness racing,

Woodbine has gone from my favorite track to wager to the one I now avoid. I haven’t bet there in a while but haven’t missed watching every race since they are on YouTube live. What is the ratio of horses going up in odds to going down in odds when they win?? I have seen one in 5 months.  Every winner drops in value. Then when it’s time to bet into a large pool they move the mandatory payout to the afternoon. Fuck them.  I do like to watch Beau Jangles race though.

They take a 25 percent chop in tri and super bets and allow this to happen thinking that no one will figure it out but after losing every day like most have they start to figure it out,  A 25 percent chop with no protection\    I think the lottery is a way better shot than horse racing these days and less stressful .     Any gamblers left that are getting sick of being abused.

Pennsylvania takeout rate on trifectas & superfectas is between 30% and 35% which is even worse.

No bro, it ain't.

Sure throw a 5 bux for a shot to win windfall cash, but I got paid $40 bux on something that is 607-1 odds.  3 mega millions balls on 4x, fuck that shit!

We have to be cognizant of not just picking winners, not just aligning them with smart wagers but true value strategies that justify the track's rake.

Not to name names but one ADW I use, not for a while though has currently a ZERO rake promotion on the SPA.  You hit a win for example and they pay you on your ticket plus the rake or take out % in full.  Offering at major tracks on various calendar dates, then again my primary has the best rebates too.  Have to evaluate and do the math on each one.

Calhoun says good luck with getting filthy rich betting 25%+ takeout pools.

Calhoun also says, yeah sure, ok when someone claims to have a super-secret ADW that offers "the best rebates," but won't/can't name it.

Why not name it?
