SPA 4th of July Stakes Races
« on: July 04, 2025, 04:33:52 PM »
I'm always ready to get humbled - I know better, thrilled and confident going in, but hey, my ass hurts!

8th - #8 Capitol Hill, went back to his 3/14 race, well today is very similar conditions, but he drops lasix which is a negative, he's also a full bro to a Wood winner!  #4 Zulu is a monster G1,2,3 winner!  #1 Maui Strong as Alvarado last rode the #8 my top selection, the inside spot might help him save ground for a late rally!

9th - #3 Luther - Horse is coming out of the French Derby, was a damn stampede, but only lost by 1.5 secs.

10 - #7 Antiquarian, Pletcher, got a feeling this horse is back in top form and older, and stronger and if so more than capable.

11 - Crazy turf sprint stakes race, can't say I'm nuts about anyone, but after  much back and forth consideration, the #2 Our Shot, #6 Woks For Me, and #8 Axthelm.

Good Luck to Everyone and Happy Forth of July!   ;D

Post race...

8th - Capitol Hill is the real deal. Race was a good win for me.  The 8 wins it's bingo bongo time lol, but thank goodness for small favors, 4,8.  Hit every race bet nicely with the exception of win and show, sadly missed out on the multi-legs going forward.

9th - I excuse the horse this Shoemark kid may not be at the level with our top jocks.  Horse (#3) had plenty, wrong jockey.

10th - When JV blew the 1st turn with the #7 my stomach sank, the #1 was awesome, but JV redeemed himself by not giving up and made it a race to the wire.  2nd place was a saver, decent place and exceptional exacta price.

11th - Not even in the ballpark.  #9 was a monster and has to be watched going forward.

Race 8: 3,5,7
Race 9: 1,6
Race 10: 3,8
Race 11: 5,6,7. I gets the chalk here looks invinsible. That be the 7. But these are 3 years old goin longer. Will see.
Total cost for a $1.00  equals $36.00.

Weather looks good everywhere herein was unsure about Prairie Meadows, radar looks like it'll be fast and what I handicapped it as, I could be wrong though!  My budget is just shy of $500 for these 6 races.  Good Luck!

Saratoga 11th - Very good fillies here , some of their broodmare's were champs too.  Could literally make a case for everyone including Nitrogen being the obvious potential winner.  #1 Warming - No lasix, not that much time off  and praying very tight, but capable trainer / Jockey, horse is lightly raced and ties, not royally bred...that last race was unreal the surge, like they were standing still.  If that horse can sustain that for 10 seconds, foughetaboutit! Praying lol!

Indiana 11th - The locals look great, but I'm going with the others.  #3 Deloraine is a Godolphin owned and the pressure has to be on to keep up their good momentum across all their trainers, Eoin Harty, Mike Smith, nice - capable.  JV on the #1 Sturgeon Moon, off layoff, hopefully Walden a solid % brought her back ready, 15-1 ml, interesting.

Indiana 12th - Coal Battle #3 looks to be improving, and ready to rock and I like him twice as much as the 1, 6, 9 who I'm hoping will tag along.

Prairie Meadows 7th - #4 Magnitude!  I, and others thought he would be the odds on favorite in the KYD, then the injury after his last race.  Focusing on win wager and multi race wagers.

Prairie Meadows 8th - with the #7 scratched whom I loved, I'm liking the #2 Red Route One, 27 starts, $2mil who the heck are these others lol!  Ben Curtis on this one and the previous race, Magnitude too, big dd, p3s for me!

Prairie Meadows 9th - I liked the #2 but scratched, #3 Quickick will likely be a prohibitive favorite kind of the rock star of this field and has raced in multiple Graded stakes, 8 races and $400k under her belt.  Doesn't this # 8 Sayucan look amazing and I hope ready, giving her equal props to the #3! Say - U - Can lol, 3 and 8!

Post Races...

What a disaster LOL!

Sar 11 - I should be locked up, and have my head checked the #1, laughable.  Maybe if he stayed 30 lengths off the pace like Capitol Hill did yesterday, but great race and what a fast time, oh my!

IND 11 - 3rd and 4th, yikes!

IND 12 - That long shot 8 screwed me up otherwise I hit it all exotic race wagers for 1/2 as much as I had Coal Battle on top.  Finished 2 1 4 5.

PM  7 - Magnitude was awesome, I thought he was going to be 1/9, I only threw $20 win and 3/5 was ok, my dd dead, however a small .50 p3 4/a/38 paid very little.

PM 8 - Missed the race, my horse missed the race too I see!   ngc3

PM 9 - Great race to watch, thought the 8 would hold on, would of cashed much better if he did, did good but not great on that one.  Great stretch duel!

I'm not doing so good with my harness races either, still have Mohawk race 9 - 86.  Big M race 7-2, race 8-1,, and Scioto Race 13 - 1.

Bad day we'll see how it ends.

I hope JFA bet his race selections as he was 3/4 in the GS but a couple of good winners and a $100+ exacta, should of evened up if not won some if he backed his selections!

Everything in harness failed, but, and a big butt lol, mine...

Purple Jesus and CAW money saved me, saved the entire day, with Papis Pistol in the BigM 8th.

I liked the horse and went one way on him - win, ex, tri, sup with alls.  Nothing working out so I doubled up and tripled up in some of the bets. Was hovering at 4-1, close to post time as little as 5/2.  Looked like was going to maybe get 3rd or 4th, but wow, what a rail drive and easy win.  Caught a 6-1 second, then I saw Papi at 7-1 and I'm like whoa and the 1st and 2nd choice got 3rd and 4th.

Not a winning day, a very humbling break even event, possible losing a very low double digits.  Nothing doing tomorrow, nice races at the Oaks on Monday!

I need to slow down and pick my spots, and a lot less races and more deep dive studying!  tmbz1

  • dougie: Harness Racing Revolution.....I never knew the Iceland connection. I believe it when you tell me cyber harassment is illegal. But if the admins choose to do nothing, what avenue is there for the folks who want to enjoy the "horse talk" in this group?

  • Harness Racing Revolution: dougie, DDOS attacks are illegal, in this country. Plop is based in Iceland. But cyber harassment is also illegal, in the US. Most of these IPs talking shit are US based. Just saying. Admins condone it, so fuck em!  ngc3
