Grandstand, you hit it right on the nail. The hate by some for Walter is just that.....hate. He knows he did a horrible thing. And you are right! He is far from the driver he was in the "old days". But he's just trying to make a living. And I think that he fits in with the driver colony at Plainridge. He will win his share and make some money. I wish him luck.

Let’s stop with the Walter talk.  He’s not even a top 5 driver in Maine.  Let that sink in…MAINE!  In my opinion he will not make enough at Plainridge to warrant the commute.   tmbz1

I believe Plainridge pays the driver a stipend no matter where they finish. Plus, their purses are phenomenal.  The smallest purse I  read was $10,000.  He has 15 drives on Monday and Tuesday. Unless he takes a private jet, I think he will more than pay for his commute.

I know he is getting listed on more races than any other driver there or at least as many as any of them are. So much for he is going to be lucky to get 2 drives a week. He already has 2 wins and will triple that this week. He said I am done with Bangor. I am not going all the way up there on Wednesdays and Sundays unless it is a stake race week. Plainridge has higher overnight purses than the Meadowlands has. I broke back in here without a hitch. I have to turn down trainers.

Walter's driving in 7 races tomorrow (Monday). He's got those first two wins under his belt and will do better as the Plainridge meet continues. It's an interesting drivers colony there with plenty of "Mainers" to watch. If you talk with the fans attending the races, almost all I've spoke to are happy to see Walter racing there.

Numbers don’t lie Case Jr Walter 8.7 23 2 1 3 .155 22,780,
His Plainridge #’s , I don’t see them improving very much, he’s old and over matched , BB, K jr, Shawn G when he shows up D . Monti , Nick G , Matty A.
That’s and ok driving colony and Case is struggling and anyone wanting can see that. Bret is showing he can go a lot of places and do very well, except YRs but that’s a tough colonial on a nightly basis, give a year more and he will be top 4 there to.
Case’s time has come and gone to be a top overnight driver anywhere. Just to clarify he was never above average stakes big money drive. Again stats don’t show nor do they lie

Thank you! Somebody who is realistic! Guy is a washed up has been.   Time to move on and stop with all this Walter Case nonsense.   I guarantee he won't crack top 5 at ridge.  He's struggling in Maine for fuck sakes.  If it wasn't for stakes season in Maine the guy would starve.  Only thing plainridge is it's a little extra beer and cigarette money.  Walter as we knew him in the 90s is dead and gone.  When he stabbed his ex wife in the back he stabbed his career in the  jugular!

If you don’t think he’s past his prime , watch the 1st  from PR , he pulls the pocket at the 3/4 ‘s following the chalk. Way past his overnight prime.

He's got a win and 2 seconds in the first 4 races. 2nd on a 60-1 shot in the 4th. He is putting on a clinic there today.

Tough to be a top 5 driver when you get the 6th/7th best horse!  At least he has an opportunity to make decent money at the ridge compared to the ‘bullring’ of Bangor!

You'll be the only person at his clinic.

mtnskipper.....Ca sey is doing good at Plainridge. He will make a decent living. He won't probably in the top 5 drivers there, but I think he's got a shot to be in the top 10.

Considering there aren't that many drivers in the first place, if he's not in the top 10 he might as well retire.

Scooteroo.....I think Casey will be glad with kind of day he had today. If he wins one each day and is in the money a few times, he'll be making more money then if he races in Maine.
