Americans win again
« on: February 14, 2025, 10:27:11 AM »
Immigration and Customs Enforcement will soon be allowed to operate in Rikers Island, New York City’s largest jail, Mayor Eric Adams announced after a meeting with “border czar” Tom Homan.

In a statement, he called the meeting with Homan productive, adding that he doesn’t want to go to war with the Trump administration.

Part of the plan discussed with Homan includes reopening ICE’s office on Rikers Island. Also discussed were ways to embed more New York Police detectives into federal task forces focused on violent gangs and criminal activity.

ICE used to have a presence on Rikers Island.  A presence that would allow them to take control of illegal immigrant criminals and immediately arrange for them to be removed from the country.  Liberals in NY got that office closed and protected these criminals from deportation.
What a win win to open it up again.  Remove these violent criminals from our country and save the $$ that would have been spent housing them at Rikers.   T
To me, this is just a common sense initiative.

"The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) indefinitely suspended the 1890 Scholarship Program on Thursday. According to the USDA’s website, the program is “pending further review.”"

Last year this program spent $19m to support 94 students.
That's over $200k per student.   You can't spend that much at Harvard.  (approx. 60k)
Begs the question, how many students could be served with $19m dollars if the process was simplified and required far fewer staff to administer it.

Did,JOHN FRANK ARMY get this right from DARNOLD DUCK.
He worried about what spent on students.
JOHN FRANK ARMY know when he went to college,a semester hour was a lot cheaper. And he got BS,paid for thru UNCLE SAM. He went on to get MS and post grad by workin and payin on his own.
But lets get this CORRECT. It cost a fortune to attend a IVY SCHOOL. You $60,000 is absurd. One year is most likly,$120,000. 4 years is like almost a half mill.
And I will add: Most of these SHITS,come from wealthy parents who buy their kids into admissions. It a GRIFT system. And most of these SHITS are lookin to get into politics. Lookin for internships with POLITICALS. And they about as bright as a sponge. But I must admit. SPONGES live longer than anythin on planet.

John, after your 500 words, I still have no idea if you think our taxes should support spending $19m on 94 students.  Is that a justifiable cost/benefit?

Press Secretary  ...  "The president, his team are very much focused on continuing negotiations with both sides of this war to end the conflict, and the president is very confident we can get it done this week," she said.

That is a bold statement.  I hope she is right.

  • dougie: Harness Racing Revolution.....I can understand your distaste for some of the schmucks on here. from hate speech to political ramblings, it would seem horses are the least talked about subject. I have learned to ignore the "usual suspects" and enjoy "Plop" for the horse talk. Trying to slow down the site is self-serving and punitive. Most "ploppers' would probably applaud seeing whoever admins this site to get rid of the nimrods. But I'm a big supporter of letting folks say what they want. So putting them on "Ignore" as I have, is a great way keep your sanity. LOL!
