According to Yahoo Finance here's that reasons why Churchill Downs is selling these 9 racetracks/casinos.....

-"Churchill Downs will divest nine casinos in seven states as it shifts focus to horse racing and online betting.
-"The company aims to use proceeds to reduce debt, reinvest in the flagshift racetrack, and repurchase shares."
-"The realignment signal increasing sector specialization amid changing dynamics in traditional gaming

Here in Maine, the news about Oxford Casino has devasted that rural community. Over 600 employees will lose their
jobs, health insurance, etc. And more Mainers will have to collect unemployment. That casino is the biggest employer
in that county.
