On the other hand, if you can’t tell a horse is lame in post parade you should be playing slots

And how exactly does this post parade analysis of race 3 help even the most talented eye for lameness before the start of race 1 for the pick 5 or race 2 for the pick 3?

The point is the lack of respect for the horse from the connections, and the racetracks lack of respect for the gamblers.

Maybe you should have watched her last 5 starts and seen her getting progressively worse. No shot I would have singled her in that field at those odds

This discussion goes way further than this horse in this race. But gamblers and horsepoeple and horses have to have confidence that the system in place to uphold safety and fairness is viable.

If the horsepeople want to push the envelope and race lame horses or the vets are incapable of determining lameness or scared of being sued, at the very least tracks should not offer pick X wagers.

Oh and if the vet had scratches her you would still be out with Warrawee Michelle as favorite

Hope Yo Tillie and Delaney Hanover come back next year - the aged mare ranks have been decimated by the breeding farms

Stoebe seems a bit different than some of the other trainers who are not concerned about the welfare of her horse and is especially fond of Elista. I doubt she would be sending her out lame week after week. Its pretty easy to explain her performances in most of last 4 or so seeing she was slammed with bad posts. In the BC, she went a huge mile having to work hard to get to the front and tired late still trotting in 50 and a piece missing by a neck doing all the work.  The horse definitely can be hot and has her quirks so perhaps the switch to Todd was ill timed but probably a move with a look toward next year since Miller will not be travelling to drive and Todd who drives Diabolic Hill will be Elista's regular driver.

I think R Melina was supposed to be a top trotter this year but after one start looks like she went to the breeding shed. Allegiant is over in Europe doing well I believe. I think we lost out on some of the Ake horses like Special Way and Bond who ended up injured and sent to be mommies.

Hopefully Conversano the winner of the Hambo Oaks who took off a couple of months for some reason and then returned to win the Matron comes back. Very overlooked mare
