Well, somebody new will be in Drumthwacket..... and Steve Sweeney is long gone after 20 years and after finishing dead last to Mikie Sherrill. That's far from a casino outside AC, but as I had previously said, I think there will be a casino at the Meadowlands, and in the next 15 years or so. Maybe 10. However, based upon the current landscape, I will update that. I think you will see a referendum on this, if not in 2026, then in 2027.....and there is greater than a 50% chance the referendum will contain language of something along the lines of.....a casino, outside AC, at a racetrack, and will specify the Meadowlands and/or Monmouth. I guess we will soon see.

Sherrill could lose and then what happens?

Correct me if I'm wrong, it sure sounds good but Gural doesn't own the land, its leased out by the state, NJ has to sell it to a/the Casino applicants before hand, no.??

It's really not about her. It's more about him finishing dead last and now being gone. Menendez is gone too. Old guard. It's just one obstacle removed, and with Sweeney a major one. Dennis Drazin has made it clear, if there's a referendum, he wants on it. Sure, we all know it's great to want things, LOL. I think casinos outside AC are inevitable. Not if, but when.

Downstate NY getting a casino has caused a lot of talk in NJ. There has been a very clear recent and strong push. Just two months the formal step was taken to revisit casino gambling, specifically at the Meadowlands and Monmouth Park. This came from Senator Gopal and Senator Sarlo, the latter being a very, very powerful person in NJ politics and commerce and industry. The bill (Bill SCR130) is already going through the legislative process. Sure, the opposition from AC casinos will be loud. But, I think there will be a case specific referendum on the ballot in November 2026. If not, 2027. It's a horse race.
