No shit sherlock. They jammed EPO into a 3yr old last year and snatched a nice prize or two before selling for a million. If by a chance out of competition test for EPO, that would have been just another example. All horses need to be checked for blood counts every week while racing, regardless of the cost to the industry. And those that are found guilty must be brought before charges swiftly and shown the door for life. Only way to clean up the game now that horses are no longer stabled on the backstretch. Send someone to Hong Kong and copy their comprehensive policies on testing. Training facilities were the game changer that permitted blood builders and next level pain killers to propagate horse racing. In retrospect, thinking local racing commissions could police these unscrupulous win at all costs characters was terribly naive. Just look now after what Mike has painstakingly laid out, people are still actively racing and winning races. How are you still licensed if your name was on Fishman's list for buying any of the non-therapeutic drugs? It's insane!

See your last two sentences. EVERYONE should be calling the USTA and every commission asking the same thing. REMEMBER, people went to PRISON for the same thing. Others lost their right to compete after a single executive meeting. START SCREAMING!!!!

The day to day horsemen and women are akin to the thin blue line. In other words, no matter how bad one of their members acts, they still belong on their team. And just like the Police Association, the horsemens' associations are all to ready to defend the indefensible. You'd hope that would change but my little straw poll indicates that it's much the same. Always disappointing, always predictable.

And that will lead to the demise of what is left.
