Why do you want Mike to get out of the Dreamland Farms? What should the feds investigate?

Lar what they should have done is turn the upstairs clubhouse into a sportsbook. They have a bar in place already up there. Plenty of
room and tons of Televisions. That room has never been upgraded just by looking at the pictures on the walls. It also has a concession
stand up there as well. The management didn't want to see this place succeed over the last 5-10 years. The writing was on the wall
such a shame had many great memories at that place.

Does anyone have a picture of the facility as it is today ? Does anyone have a picture of this hot bodied race secretary you guys mention ? All interesting stuff including a drawbridge over a highway to get to the track . All amazing things.

Great place Sunmoon. Don’t listen to BS from some on here.
Yes not a modern mecca for sure but a great place for daytime harness racing that is legendary.

Back in February some horsemen who were worried this was coming reached out to Al Ochsner and the SBOANJ. Here is part of his response. They knew and didn't care. Instead he was more concerned about me doing what they wouldn't do. At least I showed up.

The goose was in the oven almost two years ago and nobody wanted to hear it.

Where would they get sports book customers from. 98% of sports bettors stay home and bet or bet on their phones. No one is going to sit at a sports book and watch a game for 3 hours spending all their profits if they win on food and drink. In Vegas they do but Freehold is not Vegas.

mtnskipper.....ac tually I have to disagree with you. We were there a few months back and every single TV seat was taken. The tables closest to the big windows looking out to the track were pretty crowded too! I realize that Freehold's fate has been decided. But I will miss the place. Whenever we drove down from Maine to visit family in Jersey, we always spent a afternoon watching the races.

Everyone can argue all they want, about blame, fault, etc. To what end? Solutions do not have to include the blame and fault. If a person is simply a critic, personally, I have no use for that. If they are contributing and they speak to solutions, making progress, that I am all for and support 1000%. At this point Freehold is closing. The lawsuit will probably not change that. While the SBOANJ is looking to hold track ownership "accountable"-----how does that play out? Yes, the SBOANJ alleges that track ownership breached its contractual obligations. I get that. But if the lawsuit doesn't have a strong chance to keep the track open-----then what is this about? Money! Sure, I think it's sad the track is closing. But to prove fault, assign blame, and so on, it is an exercise in futility. We know the sport and the industry must reinvent itself and change. Freehold will close and unless you are part of the solution-----and with Freehold that may simply be about the state money-----you are nothing more than part of the problem. Whatever lessons you learn from Freehold closing, good luck with that.

So, the SBOANJ claims that track ownership owes the SBOANJ hundreds of thousands of dollars. Well, then it's the SBOANJ that represents the horsemen and will fight to get it. That is why the SBOANJ filed the lawsuit and not a bunch of trainers, owners, etc.

The $1.6mm, or whatever the figure was, that was supposed to go to Freehold-----should not go to track ownership-----it should go to the horsemen! This is why the SBOANJ has to represent the horsemen. I don't think the state will cut them a check and say do what you want, but let the SBOANJ represent the horsemen, be the stewards and direct those monies toward for the benefit of the horsemen, and that way the people who were supposed to get it. Period. Right now it's premature to talk about how, a Freehold meet at Gaitway, the Meadowlands, whatever. Secure the monies first and let the SBOANJ do their job.

None of which was brought to light until after the fact. Over a year ago this was all known by the SBOANJ. All at the same time their President was calling the race secretary a C**T to her face for writing NJ owned preferred races. You have no clue doctor.

See this? The real numbers from the sportsbook. Show me why they would continue running an empty building. Most of the wagering is online, this is called reality.
