jt i think you are hanging on to the past timmy and not the current timmy.there is no way timmy is better then scotty zeron. and right now yannick and macdonald are better. that puts timmy no better then 8th. again i said tim was better then those others but i wouldnt argue to much if you said differently. maybe off year, maybe  not so great horses, maybe a decline in skill, maybe his hips are getting worse but he doesnt seem to have his horses in the right position as often as he used to.
Agree to disagree.. he just hasn't had the horsepower this year. People have short term memories. He drove the best horse in the country just last year. We agree Dexter is the clear number 1 and then the Mccarthy's and Miller but I would have Timmy 5th, Scotty Z 6th, Yannick 7th, Macdonald 8th, Kakaley 9th and Chris Page 10th.. sorry had to throw an Ohioan in there lol.. Splitting hairs really.

Tim's business has changed. Two main factors. One, more competition in the driver's colony, younger, hungry guys looking for business, to make a bigger name for themselves, etc., and because of that, his usual, biggest clients started using other drivers. Two, his usual, biggest clients, haven't been as strong and successful as years ago. Kind of what happened to Bill Fahy, at least on the track. While I can't speak to what extent, or if it all, but I wouldn't be surprised if his health was a contributing factor as well. Even if slight.

lets see about top 10 here we go
1)dexter dunn 2)todd mccarthy 3)scotty zeron 4)david miller 5)andrew mccarthy 6)james mcdonald after that comes a group that includes tim tetrick and a bunch of guys who i would listen to arguments for wrenn, mcnair, bartlett, roy, kakely, buter, stratton etc. is timmy better then those probably but i wouldnt argue to hard if someone wanted to put them ahead of timmy.he is no better then 7th

Bartlett cannot be in the conversation. I’ll give him credit that he tries with everything, but he drove for Banca and Dowse. Now he drives for Engblom, Daguet, Bako, Devita. Put any decent driver on these horses and they win just as much.

Yannick should not be in the same sentence as the A drivers.  First he is one dimensional.  Second he drives for the juicers. Third he wins many races by intimidation.  Not necessarily him doing the intimidating but the trainer he drives for.  You park Burke out or don’t give a hole and you won’t drive for him ever.  Too much favoritism. He can’t improve a horse like Tim, Zeron or McCarthy can.  He can drive them to the front though.

For me, there is no way 10 drivers at the Meadowlands I would rather have that Tim. The guy did not wake up and forget how to be a top driver. It's horsepower and he doesn't have it like he used to. Period. Let's not forget, when you are talking about a driver, who they are driving, who they are driving for, how often they drive, their performance, the results, etc.-----overnight races and stakes races are very different.
