I am training 12 2yo in florida i have been between 232 and 235 with them.mostly all even quarters during the mile the very odd time will sprint alittle but not very often..ive never had to teach a fast horse to go fast i just need to prepare him to go fast..strength endurance..in my opinion fast quarters sprinting last halfs is what causes lameness issues..but every body believes in different styles and have success..mine just enjoyee 4 days in the field starting back jogging today and end of next week will start two trips..

  Quite often we see different roads taken to get to the same place. Whatever works for your program and the horse, but it should really be the other way around jmvhmfo

Yes there is more ways then one to the winners circle, ive used the laid back no rush style and it has done me very well..im stabled at sunshine meadows and get to watch alot of good horses get developed in all different kinds of training methods, i enjoy my time on the track watching mine develope and others develope ..we get off the track usually pretty early and as my grooms are putting away their horses i will sometimes wonder to a deck track side and just watch the other trainers go with their 2yo..yearlings is a passion that i cant get enough of..i like the lazy one the crazy ones and truly love the ones that tother people count out early..
