I really think that it would be in the best interest of the game if owners paid their training bill before the month starts.
The trainers take on a tremendous responsibility with our horses and the more pressure we can take off them the better their ability to take care of our horses can be.
It's like anything else, it can separate you from the bad owners who think the trainers, vets, feed and blacksmiths are banks.
We can do the sport a lot of good if we can get a good amount of owners to pay in advance and take pressure off the entire industry.

Just my opinion and something I like to practice.

Great topic for discussion!

I agree. Trainer's need a cash flow like any business in order to operate. However, some good points have been raised regarding the downside of paying for services upfront in this industry. I believe the positives outweigh the negatives and owners should be required to pay for at least 50% of their training bill on the 1st of each month.

I would assume it's no different than not paying your vet bill. The track will take action until the situation is resolved; at least that's my understanding. I may be wrong but I see your point.
