What would be the purpose of handing over your whip to an opponent in a race other than to aid him in advancing ? There should be a severe penalty for this, to both parties, regardless of where each finished.
ALL I CAN THINK IS THAT HE DROPPED HIS WHIP AND THE HORSE WAS HARD TO HANDLE AND HE FEARED SOMETHING BAD WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. (ALTHOUGH TO ME IT SEEMED HE COULD GET THE HORSE HOME SAFELY) I SURE HOPE A SCENARIO ALONG THESE LINES WAS THE ISSUE.
