stagger the take out rates

if you play for 10 or 20 cents-have the takeout 30-40%

if you play for $1 or more-have the take out at 20% or less

the dreamers must bet into a larger takeout-much like the penny slot player who has no idea of what a takeout is

Always felt the majority of people who bet have no idea what the takeout is or care. A long time ago when simulcasting first started alot of the programs used to list the takeouts for each track but it disappeared after a year or two.

i get your thought and its not out of line
i just think its too complicated
the industry needs some serious gamblers to come back in
lower the takeouts and make the pools and payouts worth getting
stop catering to the small time penny pushers, thats been t ried and did not work

Also think there are less serious gamblers now than there used to be as the older bettor continue to die off.

lowering the takeouts will lower the rebates

and the CAWs are the most catered to customer-they like their obscene rebates very much

you are correct-they need to cater to the middle class bettor--but its too late now--that CAW handle is a very addictive entity and the financial hit to "get off the stuff" would initially be massive and that's not an investment they are willing to make

Serious gamblers want a chance to take down an entire pool.
Can't do that with scrubs playing 20 cent Pick 3s and Pick 4s.

If I was a serious gambler I'd be more concerned about the CAW's using unlimited funds and technology to take down affect the betting pools rather than worrying about somebody that bets the minimum because they like to bet and aren't looking to make thousands when they do.

Go to any casino...What do you see more of...People playing one, two, or five cent slots or people playing in the High Limit room ??

The retail player has no chance. CAW askew the pool and watered down the payoffs. Repole and Portnoy stated many times this is the the case why people should not bet. I agree with them both so either play along  or get along. How many average players can hit the all button if the exacta min. is 5$ I like to bet my to bet my  top choice to win if the odds are nice then wheel it for second .. 5$ ex will price me out

think that we should go back in time a little. $2 min. $1 boxes keys and wheels. with most tracks struggling to get 10k into any pool, it really sucks when you get some price horses together and think the tri or super is going to be big only to find out several people 50 cent boxed the tri on their lucky numbers or a few 10 cent super players trying to get even used a bunch of longshots and then my big payoff turns watered down to crap.

Do you think going back to a higher minimum wager on exotics would hurt the overall handle because smaller bettors would be priced out, or would it have little or no effect?
