Longtime Dover and Harrington Raceway track announcer Jack Gallagher not at the mic tonight. Probably the first night he's missed in decades.

Has to be terribly ill to miss a night.

In 40 years, I dont think but maybe  twice that  I was at the track or watching on internet that he wasn't the announcer that night.

The old announcer from Rosecroft before Witherite took over is calling tonight. Jack is 82 and hasn't been sounding very well for a while, troubling keeping up.

Jack has sounded very horse lately.  Pun not intended.

Many years ago I had one in at the Meadowlands and Jack went along and boy did he fire away back then.

My brother was a Letter Carrier in New Castle, DE from the early 1990's until 2009. One of the routes he had for a few years, Jack lived on and still does, and he always liked to bet.

I saw Jack at the sports book at ballys firing away before the card started just last winter.
