Big Ranger didn't 'PREP' at THe M[1]. Hadn't raced on a mile but gee, he seemed to do pretty well.

They race a boring style because the stretch is so long.  Two wide flow is slow to develop.  They gap horribly.  The track is made for pacers not trotters.  Track has a major local bias.  The announcers voice is annoying.

handle,location are going to be issues,but the real problem is all the trotters who will be competing for the hambo will be racing half way across the country. 98% of hambo hopefuls are raised and raced on the east coast. most stables who compete in hambo dont stable anywhere near indy. how soon does melander,ake,toscano,pelling etc bitch about this.

Didn't people trek to Pompano Park {RIP} for breeders crown and the matron years ago?
