I remember when Irving Liverman sold the great race mare Handle With Care at public auction, when she was no longer useful to him (age and no longer a productive broodmare). I think the amount was only $18,000, if I remember correctly. She was a winner of over $800,000 in the early to mid 1970's, when that was a very hard amount to make for any horse, especially a pacing mare. She was a world champion and in the Hall of Fame. I hope that he enjoyed the money! It was all about the money and showed no respect or loyalty to a very special mare.
Well said Dingus and brownmoose13..... pathetic and a disgrace!
