NYRA is daring to allow that.

He could fall down and still get 3rd, win possibly, but you don't pull that move with a quality horse, wealthy owners and successful trainers frown on it, as a small injury from a fall can turn into a major one.

it once was automatic they had show wagering on 5 horse fields in NY --but now that they own/operate their popular ADW, it is certainly possible they would cancel show wagering

Gulfstream and Santa Anita/DelMar(and of course CT) never cancel with 5 entries--but CD has been known to cancel

a bridejumpers dream is Sovreignty vs those if they allow it

I think the thoroughbred Gulch was the biggest show fail.  If I remember correctly $4mil or so to show, televised race, finished 4th.

That's a tall bridge!   ngc3

you could be correct-i wasn't watching minus pools in those days

the last two big blowups I can recall were Shared Belief at CT for just over one million and Arrogate at DelMar-for over a million-but there was so much hedge money in they weren't worth betting against

its harder to get down on these minus pools, they will close your ADW account if you abuse it

That's because the ADW regulatory sucks.

They just want a guaranteed win.

Not that I do bridgejumping nor ever will, very unfair to penalize, threaten, cancel account, seek reimbursement like some do.

If the track offers it, go argue with your partner therein.

Real scumbags.

Hey, bridgejumpers will just wire money to the track.

I agree totally--they make over $40 million a year on breakage, so I feel they can absorb the minus pools

"net pool pricing" changed the rules to wherever the bet made that venue responsible for the loss--and it changed the show payoffs themselves--we the old days all horses paid $2.10 when the favorite hit the board--but the blowups were bigger--nowadays some horses pay $5-6 or more when the favorite lands--but the blowups aren't as big

living in $2.10 world is brutal--i tried it over a decade ago and couldn't make a profit-but I truly believe $2.20 world at CT and MNR is doable if you are good enough and can get down

You got bigger balls if I had ambitions of bridgejumping because I would never mess with those smaller tracks.  I wouldn't throw it past track / owner  management to send an intermediate to give the jockey a thumbs down or else.

Problem when everything is so crooked, insiders become vulnerable, the brass keep a file on ya, just about everyone has a file.

I thought yesterday's Haskell was pretty exciting. Gosger, always seems to try hard. Journalism win was pretty cool. He's a great horses. I just think Sovereignty is a tad faster. I hope both run as 4 year olds.

Agreed! I absolutely enjoyed the race, a lot! Who wouldn't love to see both horses come back sound and healthy and battle it out next year?!?!? That would be great. Unfortunately, both horses are already have owners who are major breeders. Plus, with the current economics of the business, there is disincentive for owners of horses like this to bring them back at 4. Some of these others might come back next year. I hope they all come back sound and better.
