Is now a good time to jump into the stock market?
« on: April 21, 2025, 03:17:38 PM »
I have a few friends here in New England who tell me that it's a great time to "jump" into the stock market. I have never been "in the market" and know little about it. I do own a few ounces of gold kruggerands I bought in 1990 at a coin show. They are in a bank vault and haven't looked at them for years. That aside, nothing in the stock market in a personal account. But a broker in NYC told me he's advising his clients to jump in and pick up some "bargains" as he called them. Any thoughts on what to buy?

In the late 2000's I had some stock positions but along came that mini crash of 2008 that caused my stocks to lose roughly half value. At the time I was looking at Ford, it was down to 75 cents a share, I knew Fords European division was doing very well. Then in recent times it has risen to as high as 13 dollars.
I would have made a killing if I had bought Ford at 75 cents.
The market seems to always have a comeback. Theres no harm in dipping your toes in the water. Buy some small positions in stocks you like or have a hunch about.

I bought 1000 shares of DJT stock at $16 April 7, today it closed at $26. Pick your holdings carefully and hold them!
