unusual betting pattern at YR on Thurdays 9th race
« on: January 24, 2025, 07:34:45 AM »
Simon Allard the driver on the #8 in the 9th race. It's his only drive. He leaves for the top following Gingras on the 5. Allard is forced to drop in 3rd. As Gingras passes Stratton who is in the lead goes into a break. Now the lineup is Gingras and Allard. Coming down to the finish line Gingras wins and is DQ'D and the judges put the Allard horse 1st paying $44 to win. If you watch the replay of the race you saw no evidence of interference by Gingras. In fact if you back to watch the replay there is no video at all showing the interference. On top of that the Daily Double of 8-7 is only paying $37 on the outcome, which is less than what the 8 horse paid to win????? The question is what happened to the judges replay views at the end of the 9th race????

First off it was the price for a $1 DD, and so while a bit short it was an odds on horse in the second leg so not at all unusual.

For the conspiracy minded, I watched the replay at TwinSpires and what struck me was that for the 9th race they literally had like 7 minutes of pre-race video, and not one second after they passed the finish line. In my experience, most times the replay starts as the horses get rolling coming to the top of the stretch, include the jog back to the winners circle and the photo with the nice graphic about the connections, and include the replay as well as the head on replay. The other races that I checked last night followed that pattern but the 9th race did not. Further, the replay usually notes the inquiry and shows the video footage of the infraction.

Not sure what happened with the infraction. Did note that the Yonkers Raceway replay site did not include an option for anything other than the pan view of any of the available races from this week, so any proof there was an incident caused by the winner is not available as far as I can tell.

I believe the infraction was Yannick going inside the pylons and not interference. Doesn’t mean funny shit doesn’t happen all the time at Yonkers.

Does the USTA post nightly judges reports for each track like Standardbred Canada does?

the USTA chart says #5 was IP

inside pylons and placed last

if it was interference he would be placed behind the one he interfered with

My friend you are reading the chart wrong.
1P8  for the 5 is first placed 8th not inside pylon.

if the time was disqualified-does that mean it was interference?
The chart for the #1 horse shows he was interfered with before the quarter.
IXIP  reads interference break inside pylon

drivers dont even need to stiff horses anymore
at some point in the race just go inside 2 pylons, automatic dq, just say you could not control the horse
i have seen a driver at mohawk do it a few times, to make it worse it is in the first turn

I am amazed they let the A-1 team (Akins/Allard) go off at that price.  If you look at them racing at Pocono the past 2 years you can see myriad examples of wins from the outside posts with that combo.
