They breached the FBI. The FBI is now dismantling them piece by piece. FBI Director Kash Patel announced Friday that agents have arrested another suspected member of ShinyHunters, the global hacking ring accused of stealing personnel data from the FBI's own jobs site in September.
The suspect, reported to be a Canadian citizen, was arrested in Pennsylvania. Dutch police arrested one of the group's alleged leaders days earlier.
FBI Assistant Director Brett Leatherman says the group has breached more than 140 organizations and taken at least $70 million in extortion payments, targeting third-party vendors to steal data and demand ransoms.
The investigation spans three continents, and Patel says the arrests are not finished.
