The article says 6 of 15 tracks were up this year compared to last year. I would be curious to know which 6 were up

There are other reasons, but the biggest one is sports betting. If you didn't grow up with harness racing you have no interest, plus the older people who used to go are all dying off and not being replaced.

Oak Ridge for sure is one

harness racing has seen about a 5% decrease in handle every year for the last 5 years--so this isnt a sudden newsflash

They have made the product less interesting.  The "stars" race a few races and are gone. The "stars" need to be on the track not at some farm never to be seen again.  Heat racing added great drama to some of the top races and now that is gone. The industry to the slots handouts and turned its back on the fans and the fans moved on.

  • Welcome to 504error.com!
The USTA in its brilliance is blaming two tracks closing for the drop. Are they that fucking stupid? Yeah, two more tracks have closed! And more to come.  ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3
