Appreciate your words and sentiments. Boring also had ColtFortySix, correct? True Duane was a career maker no doubt.
Interesting you disagree about Schnittker given his current resume as spelled out. Not completely surprised and I don;t mean you personally. I know he has detractors and there is a bias towards him.. Loved Superwave, btw. Kopas's great horseman!
BORING HAD A SLEW OF GOOD HORSES THAT HE WOULD SHIP TO CHICAGO LIKE SHIAWAY LAD, COLT FORTYSIX, APROPO, BIG DADDYS SHADOW AND PLENTY MORE. GOOD ALL AROUND HORSEMAN.

I have at my disposal the names of trainer/drivers who dwarfed his career and are not in. Chris was a fine horseman, two great horses, several very good. Never saw the "it" factor making him a HOF guy. Like Billy Pop, does not truly belong. The list begins with Brett Pelling, Tony Morgan, Steve Elliott.......... .......

HOF is nothing more then a popularity contest. It really doesn’t define a person. Like you said there are plenty of more deserving people. Tony Morgan owned Chicago harness racing and was the greatest Chicago driver in the history. But because they love that kiss ass Dave Magee the tracks ignored Tony because he wouldn’t kiss ass. Say whatever you want but tony mo was the best driver in Chicago harness racing history.
Johnny Johnson fucked up Chicago harness racing. I hope you die !!!!

100 percent. I know Illinois racing is your thing, so can you answer me a question. I always thought Tony Morgan was a brilliant talent and i always figured he would set his sights on the BigM, but he never did. He certainly could have competed at the top level with anyone there. Do you know why he never tried to crack the Meadowlands. Even Eddie Davis came up and had some good years at the Meadowlands.

You and Larry hit it out with your definition of the HOF.  Period! Nothing more to be said.  Every thing is subjective.  In truth, I feel the greatest driver is the one that I cashed my last ticket with.  Shallow, but my truth.    ;D ;D ;D

I don’t know this to be a fact but I think tony liked being a big fish in a medium pond. He was training a lot of the horses that jerry Hansen was listed down on but tony likes to gamble and when he bet he didn’t miss too often. Just an all around horsemen and his quiet personality rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Tony knew every horses capability and always knew who the best horse was and how he had to beat that horse. Dave Magee just got to drive cadillacs for all of those years and that’s why my opinion is tony was just better period. Tony wouldn’t kiss Langley and the johnsons ass like Magee would.

Interesting. Ty for that answer, Certainly is in accordance with a lot of what I have heard. People say Tony was an excellent trainer/vet/Chemist as well as a world class driver.
