Oak Grove launches with hazy Condition sheets
« on: October 09, 2019, 03:19:01 PM »
Our sport needs specific, quantifiable rules of entry.  This new Oak Grove track seems to want to allow for a little gray area flex.  For crying out loud, state clearly and honestly if you want legit harness horsemen to patronize your track.  And, sprinkle some Miracle Grow on those purses.

Is it possible that the unclear conditions are due to lack of horses to make full fields, so they gotta bend a little.  This is usually the case maybe?

dont complain about horses dropping in to races in grey areas...that will get you crucified on this site...

unfortunetly, since that is exactly the type of thing we SHOULD be talking about , since classification is the name of the game to have success, but others dont get it...

What this sport needs are tracks to tell horsemen who do nothing but complain to go race somewhere else. Time for horsemen who do nothing to support  the business end of the sport to be shown the door until they learn some manners

Give them credit for stating that a winner must move up a class in next start. No more jamming a claimer week after week in same class.

I'm looking forward to it.  Especially the 11:00 am post time.

I'm thinking of hosting a watch party.

I don't quite get your remark.  Are you inferring that the sport should still be a good old boys insider deal and run like 1959?  In a sophisticated techno age - it's time to make the rules efficient and honest instead of wide open for pill bottle, creased cards and marked envelopes to be the course of the day.  That's not a complaint, that's a cry for legitimacy.
