#1. Take what you can afford to the track ( No Scared Money) #2 If you don't hit a race by the fifth leave
#3. If you hit a good race leave immediately ( You will thank yourself tomorrow)
#4  If you hit good don't go right back the next day ( In your mind you will convince yourself you can
      walk in and start winning again) wait a few days.

If you're in it for the long haul, then the only way to bet horses is to bet the post time favorite. Most tracks if not all have favorites winning at over 40%. I'm not aware of any other game where the house is telling you the winner 40-50% of the time.
