A million a year?  No, he does not.  He makes about $360,000 per year gross.  About as much as any high level exec or director at a major corporation.  But he gets no benefits whatsoever and his tax deductions are minimal.  There is no corporate stock options or matching funds corporate add on monies.  He has to pay for everything but health insurance which he probably gets from the SOA or SBOA.   Also, his job his dangerous.  I live in a wealthy community ( a house we inherited from my father-in-law) and most of the young corporate guns in my neighborhood make far more money overall than any harness racing driver.

I’m not sure where you got 360,000 but that is clearly not correct. In 2018 his gross pay was $585,127.  That’s not including all of the tips that he got for winning 330 races, that was probably 50-75k extra, bringing his pay to about 650k, I’d say pretty good, no?
