Title: Beau's Sophomore Campaign
Post by: SDST2009 on May 16, 2026, 09:32:32 PM
Starting this thread because I think we need it.

This thing is a freak. I don't know too many who can conduct a glorified training mile sub 50 like that.

McClure said it best in post race interview. He just doesn’t want to get him a bad trip to tarnish his growing legacy. He also believes the horse is a once in a lifetime freak of a horse.

Does bobble deserve to drive the horse.

Prison?

Maybe a prison hospital?

Maybe a morgue?

He's a bad cheater and the answer would be dependent on how many gamblers he screwed they locked him up with.

He's hurt many a gambler, owner, trainer, horse....the horse would probably win with a fat P Driver on him.

I could compile hundreds of videos of evidence of his lack of effort, nor tries, burying live horses...bobble deserves nothing.

Maybe his wife will dump him and find a suitor who is a proper provider.

Shows how disintegrated this business is, a million wrongs are not righted by a one move monster of a horse that he pilots.

Hope the horse finds a better driver too, one that's talented and doesn't cheat.

Trig I don't LOVE McClure but I wouldn't take the drive away from him, no way, no how, at this point.

I like Bob. I gather you don't, and I have seen him do some dumb shit out there, but if you like it or not he's ended up behind some good ones and I don't think that's coincidence, and not for bad reasons.

No, a criminal with a double life doing something good too doesn't cut it.

There's been much better people at their professions on planet earth held accountable that were athletes, executives, doctors...bobble is a nothing!

He should stay in Canada too.

I agree he's not an inter-country player..but he did win the Hambo.

I wouldn't seek him out, but I wouldn't take him off of one he was doing well with.

I am not familiar with whatever criminal activity you're referring to, but if you can point to to some evidence of it, I will be more than happy to educate myself on it.

No need to go into the videos, we'll find cheating from him going forward  - no problem, it's like betting the sun will rise tmbz1

Him, JMac, McNair would do great  tmbz1 in an interrogation  ngc3 save us all a bunch of time  ngc3

Back to what this thread is about - anyone interested in the sport should be excited about this colt.

The Mohawk media crew is over the moon about him. It is going to be a bad look when (if?) he gets beat.

That said, the pessimist in me wants to poke holes in him...but I haven't seen them yet.

I think Beau Jangles was lucky last year that the top few Indiana horses were not staked to grand circuit.

This year, different story. I don't see anyone touching Beau Jangles.

Is he ever going to leave Canada this year to race for money?

 ngc3

I'm not looking to beat the horse, unless I bet him that way.

One mishap, and it's over, that's part of racing for every participant.

If he's on the track he's healthy.

If he's healthy he'll be hard to beat.

Shown he has heart last year.

If Burke has 2-3 that tag teams up on him it could be curtains.

Let's see him show up at the BigM, and we'll see what shows up as competition.

Is he ever leaving Canada or is he a talented horse pussycat  ngc3

I really hope this colt brings some good publicity to the sport.

Just my opinion, but in probably 35ish years of really paying attention to the sport..he has my attention. I can count on one hand how many really have. There's no one else racing right now, other than him, that falls into that category.

You're exactly right.

So far - I haven't seen anything that can get within a few lengths of him. Several of the potential contenders from last year haven't come back even close to how this colt has.

I'm usually a pessimist on horses like this, but he is freak good. I really hope he is the jolt this sport needs.

Thanks for starting this thread SDST2009.. Alot of good points on here.
I just got home from Scioto and watched the replay.. I will make a few points
First, we can all agree the horse is an absolute monster
Second, it is great for the sport to have a superstar, how "the powers that be"use that super stardom is an entirely different topic
Third,  of course the bobble doesn't deserve to drive this horse. He lucked into it. It's well documented that Roy was going to drive him his first lifetime start, but he had to be at The Meadowlands for the graduate finals. Right place, right time for McClure..
Having said that..alot of drivers had no business driving some of our sports superstars.. SBSW MacDonell, Niatross Clint Galbraith, Jenna's Beach Boy and Western Hanover Bill Fahy..I could go on and on.. so not ultra rare.
Lastly hopefully he comes to the states to compete..no horse in Canada is beating him. He is LBJ eligible and Dr. Moore hasn't been shy about racing here. Could he overcome post 7 or 8?

There's no impetus to take him away from Bob, and he is not incompetent. Are there drivers who could do better with the horse? Probably. But as you point out - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The ultimate unknown with this guy - he's never been anywhere else*

As of mid-May - continent-wide - I've seen nothing that can get within a couple lengths of him. So far nothing in Ontario can get within maybe 10 lengths of him.

I am on the Beau bandwagon. He could break my heart, but I hope he doesn't.

Regardless of what he ultimately does, I will say they are talking him up hard in Canada and he seems to be drawing crowds.

This is the sort of horse the sport needs.

*He has "been elsewhere" as he wintered and qualified in FLA. He doesn't seem like the kind of horse who won't travel well, but I will feel better about my faith in him once he wins a race elsewhere.

I meant the horse coming to the states, not bobblehead. ngc3
You made a good point about a Burke tag team effort against him. Last year he had a 5 headed monster. Not sure what Burke has in the pipeline this year

It turned out to be a 4 headed with a scratch.

Prince Hal Hanover won.

Coincidentally, a Ian Moore horse.

I called it and won too, was the Adios tmbz1

I can count all of my last year wins on a few fingers  ngc3

And he still couldn't get him beat :)
